Viva Elton Hulet, 93, a musician and music teacher, died July 11, 1995 at Salt Lake City of complications due to age.
She was born March 8, 1902 at Cardston, Alberta, Canada, and married Ernest S. Hulet October 27, 1927.A pianist and organist, she played for public gatherings in Holbrook, Ariz. and taught piano to hundreds of students in that area. She studied at the McCune School of Music, and later at the New York City School of Music.
Viva served as state president of the Arizona PTA organization. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she fulfilled a mission in the Eastern States Mission, New York City area.
She was honored as "Woman of the Year" in Holbrook for her civic and cultural works.
Viva Hulet is survived by three daughters, Gherdenna Hale of Salt Lake City; Viva Ursula Hulet of Palm Springs, Calif.; and Sandra DeSpain of Marana, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 1995 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 So. Second East, Salt Lake City. Graveside services at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Ave. "N" Street at 11 a.m. |
