Clyde Albert Vaughan 1922-1999

Halifax Chronicle Herald, June 22, 1999.

Clyde Albert Vaughan, 77, Western Shore, died Monday, June 21, 1999, in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born at Gold River, he was a son of the late Willis George and Abigail Suzanna (Ernst) Vaughan.

He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving in Newfoundland and overseas. He was a local businessman in Western Shore, working as a cooper, blacksmith, and meat cutter. Prior to retirement, he worked in Halifax as a carpenter.

Surviving are his wife, the former Iva Madeline Zwicker; daughters, Deborah Carroll and husband Ken, Western Shore; Gay Fancy and husband William, Colpton; Jane Kelly, Plymouth, England; son, Robie Vaughan and wife Janet, Western Shore; sister, Harriett Dauphinee, Halifax; grandchildren, Ryan and Jillian Vaughan; Georgina Kelly; step-grandchildren, George and Willa Mae Fancy; step-great-grandchildren, Daniel, Tyler, Slater, and Hannah Fancy; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Maude Corbin, Jean Bellefontaine, Lucy Vaughan, Ellen Vaughan; twin sister, Clara Richardson; brothers, Colin, George, Frank, Gilbert, Robie, John, Lawrence.

Private family service will be held at a later date in Western Shore Baptist Church Cemetery.
